The first part of this assignment was to use the Google Ads Keyword Tool to research the monthly searches of five key terms we feel people would use when looking for my website. The five key words that I have chosen to look up are public relations, technology, Chriss (my last name), GVSU, and student blog. The number of global monthly searches for public relations is 90,500. for technology 301,000 searches, for Chriss 2,900 searches, for GVSU 60,500 searches, and for student blog 1,000 searches.
The second part of this assignment is to use the Google Ads Keyword Tool to research alternative words for the first five. For the next five words we want to have a higher number of global monthly searches, which means it is a broader term and more people have searched it. My five alternative words are advertising, photoshop, Olivia (my first name), university, and blog. The number of global monthly searches for advertising is 135,000; for photoshop 3,350,000 searches, for Olivia 165,000 searches, university 165,000 searches, and for blog 1,220,000 searches.
The third part of this assignment is to use the five alternate words listed above in one sentence. The sentence that I have made is “My name is Olivia Chriss, I’m a student at Grand Valley State University majoring in Public Relations and Advertising and this is my blog with posts that use programs such as photoshop and final cut.”
The fourth and final part of this assignment was to comment on two of our fellow classmates SEO/SEM blog posts. The URL for those posts are below. PLEASE CHECK THEIR PAGES OUT! 🙂
This assignment has given me an idea of how important the tags and categories I use for each post on this cite are.
